Florence is like no place else...sand dunes EVERYWHERE. The landscape changes constantly and it's quite an experience to go there. I have a vacation home in Lincoln City, which has gotten very popular over the years. If you like gambling, there is a casino there but be warned if you don't like tht scene, because those are the "types" of people that infilterate the town this time of year. Newport is fun and I love Depoe Bay, Spanish Head, Pacific City, Yaquina Litehouse...just driving down Highway 101 is an adventure...tons of small towns and interesting stores + tourist traps like the Wax Museum or Sea Lion Caves. But yeah, I know the stretch between Lincoln City and Florence the best and there is something interesting to do in all of those towns in between. Great places to eat, too.

Garibaldi is a cool little town, you can go crabbing there. Same with Waldport, just south of Newport but less tourists. Tillamook is a good place to stop for lunch.
